Now that that's off of my chest... I MADE A SALAD TODAY!
OK, so I'm very proud of myself, because my family was pretty much strictly carnivorous, I'm not kidding. Maybe once a week I'd have a decent amount of vegetables.
QUESTION!!!!! Does some corn, some peas, and a meager amount of green beans mixed in with TONS of rice count as a healthy proportion of vegetables? I think not. But apparently for my mother, it's quite enough.
She was quite into our conversation/debate though. She was saying how we ALWAYS have a healthy amount of vegetables, and that I didn't have anything to worry about.
OK, well, for me, one half a cup of
petits pois is just not enough. I need some lettuce, some tomatoes, some carrots, maybe some radishes... which, by the way, is what I put in the salad today. I pretty much pleaded my parents to give me some money tomorrow so I could go to the store and buy some more vegetables for tomorrow's salad, but I think I'm going to have to buy them myself. Now, that's gonna be a little tough without wasting one of the two twenty dollar bills my godmother gave me. Yeah... Great confirmatino gift!
Anyway, I really want to keep eating vegetables. I think it's a healthy lifestyle to eat vegetables (big news there huh?) and I don't feel as if I'm eating enough. Same goes with fruit.
Granted, I'm not saying I'm becoming a vegetarian. I love my meat in a non-sexual way, and there's nothing that makes me happier than some ground beef with tomato sauce and potatoes slowly cooked over a small flame, which, by the way, is what I ate my salad with today. And some tortillas. And some refried beans.
OK, so, except for the refried beans, I think my dinner was pretty healthy.
